As featured in Her Campus, USA Today College, BeyondBookmarks, and HipKits, College Studying Styles started out as a college success guide that Bethany created and handed out to at-risk college students she had mentored. She soon learned that not only were her students benefiting from the guide, but their friends had been as well. Seven years later, the stapled pieces of paper were expanded upon and published into a book.
College Studying Styles not only caters towards at-risk students, but all college students. This purposely short book is jam-packed with studying tips, test-taking techniques, motivational quotes, life skills and fresh perspectives concerning college and its many treasures. She is also candid about how she was able to overcome her own college struggles.
With only fifty-six percent of college students graduating within six years, College Studying Styles is looking to help change that statistic.
"Our findings reinforce the importance of strong academic preparation and high aspirations in college success...We must work harder to ensure that all students have access to a quality education and effective college guidance assistance, particularly those at-risk, underserved students who tend to be the most vulnerable."
